Honey Donuts


Ingredients:

½ cup milk
½ cup + ½ tsp sugar
½ cup butter
½ tsp salt
½ cup warm water
1 pkg or 2¼ tsp yeast
1 tsp vanilla
5 whole eggs
5 cups a/p flour
vegetable oil for frying

Method:
  • Scaled in a sauce pot , milk, butter, sugar and salt
  • In a small bowl combine water, sugar and yeast (let sit for about 10 to 15 minutes to activate yeast)
  • Beat 5 eggs well and temper with warm milk mixture, vanilla and flour.
  • Add yeast mix and milk mix to flour, fold until elastic and leave in a grease bowl covered to allow to double in size
  • Punch down and cut donut shapes out. Let rest for 15 minutes and fry at 365f until golden brown on both sides
  • Pat dry on a brown paper bag and while still warm dip in honey and let cool on a rack
